NOCTURNE HOUSE
A Word From The House.
Nocturne House is a fiction imprint under Huntsville Independent Press dedicated to immersive, emotionally charged storytelling across dark romance, romantasy, horror, suspense, fantasy, and speculative fiction. We believe readers remember stories that make them feel something long after the final page. The books that linger are rarely the safest ones. They are atmospheric. Character-driven. Sharp with tension, and unafraid of emotional consequence. They pull readers completely into their worlds and refuse to let go.
This is the foundation Nocturne House was built upon.
As an imprint, our focus is not simply on trends, but on the emotional core behind them—the reason certain stories resonate so deeply with readers in the first place. We are drawn to compelling voices, immersive prose, unforgettable character dynamics, and stories that balance commercial appeal with genuine emotional impact.
We are especially interested in stories that embrace atmosphere, obsession, vulnerability, tension, intimacy, fear, longing, moral complexity, and the kinds of emotional stakes that stay with the reader well beyond the final chapter. Whether romantic, haunting, unsettling, or devastating, we believe fiction should leave an impression.
As part of Huntsville Independent Press, Nocturne House combines a distinct editorial identity with the support and infrastructure of an established, well-reputed independent publisher. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with authors while publishing stories readers return to again and again.
This is only the beginning of Nocturne House, and we are incredibly excited for what lies ahead.

Jerry Wallpe
BLADE, CHAIN & VULTURE
Jerry Wallpe is a grimdark fantasy author from the middle of Texas. Raised as a navy brat, but formerly a wrench-turner in the Air Force, he writes about the things that scare him most, which oftentimes isn’t the long, empty, dreadful hallway, the slithering monster under the bed, or the scream in the black of night, but the people we encounter, the choices they make, and the effect they have on the living.
Inspired by authors such as Joe Abercrombie, Brandon Sanderson, and Stephen King, he writes of people and places, balancing the brutal truth about reality with the unsettling, the unspoken, or the unforgivable.
When not writing, Jerry can be found with his wife, The High School Sweetheart, his two boys, The Minion and The Maniac, and probably smoking tasty barbecue, playing guitar too loudly, or parenting patiently—well, as patiently as can be, that is.
A.R. Smith
THE INFINITE BETWEEN
A.R. Smith is a debut fantasy novelist and lifelong outdoorsman from Oregon, where the towering forests and rugged coastlines have long fueled his imagination. When he isn’t writing you can find him searching for a new trail or chasing the same sense of adventure and wonder that infuses the world of the Starlight and Spells series.
A.R. Smith lives in Millersburg with his wife and their four children, who remain his biggest supporters (and toughest critics).
Lia Ison
PARANORMAL PLIGHT
Lia Ison is a first time LGBTQIA+ Mixed Filipina author who specializes in the Horror, Paranormal, Fantasy, Romance, and Sci-Fi genres. Though she has a background in Forensic Science and would like to be a Crime Scene Investigator one day, Lia has always aspired to be a writer since she was a little girl and is very passionate about the work that she produces. She loves writing mind-bending and jaw-dropping stories around important or controversial topics in society, her community, and culture.
Currently, she is based out of the state of Georgia, but has lived all over the United States in places such as California, Michigan, and Florida.
When not working, you can find Lia snuggling with her pet chihuahua, JJ, and pet cat, Oreo. She is also a certified nerd, preferring to spend her time fangirling over her favorite TV shows/movies, gaming, napping, drawing, making YouTube videos, falling down internet rabbit holes, and collecting Monster High Dolls.
E.B. Aster
DANCE FOR ME
E.B. Aster fell in love with books and their hidden worlds before anything else. Books were her hideaway, her happy place, her home. Then she discovered renaissance faires and met a boy and her life expanded outside of the pages she loves. Today she remains surrounded by books, but her life also includes her equally nerdy husband, her feral children and the better part of a petting zoo.
Noelle Grey
EVERGLOW
Noelle Grey is a fantasy romance author that prefers the fictional world over the real one. With a love for dangerous magic, morally grey characters, and enemies-to-lovers, Noelle writes for readers who love slow-burn, powerful heroines, complicated love interests, and stories where happily ever after is fought for.
Currently residing in Tennessee with her husband and two diabolical cats, Erebus and Benny, Noelle can often be found working on an extra long list of WIPs or plotting out a new story that was supposed to be just an idea. News flash: it’s never just an idea.
When not writing or bringing another world to life, Noelle can usually be found hours deep into an anime or video game, whether that be Final Fantasy, Dark Cloud or somewhere else magical, remembering just where her love for writing began.
